Chu Shogi Full Set
Chu Shogi (中将棋, chū shōgi, or Middle Shogi) is a strategy board game native to Japan. It is similar to modern shogi (sometimes called Japanese chess) in its rules and gameplay. Its name means “mid-sized shogi,” referring to a time when three different sizes of shogi variants were regularly played. Chu Shogi appears to have been developed in the early 14th century as a derivative of Dai Shogi (“Large Shogi”).
Chu Shogi is considered one of the most complex traditional board games.
Shogiban
A traditional Shogiban (shogi board) with a 12×12 playing field.
The Shogiban is made of solid linden wood and finished with linseed oil and wax.
The board is hand-carved, with finely cut lines. The delicate lines allow you to appreciate the natural beauty and texture of the wood.
