An early English set, dating to the first half of the 18th century!
Just imagine, people were using this chess design before the United States became an independent country and even before Mozart was born.

One side in walnut, the other side in white maple, kings and queens with multi-knopped columns, bishops as split mitres, knights with cleft blocks, rooks as monobloc turrets, pawns of squat form.

The natural wood texture has been saved.
Without the use of paints or stains.
